Pépé VIGNES (1920 - 2007)

A ball accordionist and singer, Pépé Vignes was born in Paris in 1920 where he lived off small jobs until 1960. He then decided to leave the capital to settle in Elne, a small village in the Pyrénées-Orientales (Northern Catalonia) where he began to make drawings with ballpoint pen, which he colored with color pencils.

With a strong myopia, he drew the nose glued to the support, cars, trains, boats, planes, churches, flowers, fish and musical instruments with the heart of a child and we transmit this emotion so rare in contemporary art.
